Insurance for Road Commissioners (a part-time job)

It currently costs the county around $100,000 for insurance for the five members of the Road Commission.
They put in 10-15 hrs a month – Other part-time employees don’t have full medical benefits, I feel this is a major misuse of our county tax dollars.

I am for increasing the Road Commissioner’s wages in place of the health insurance (Serving on the Road Commission is not a career).

There are currently five members of the Road Commission. Until recently, it used to be three. I feel three members, at this time, would be adequate for the county.

Project Labor Agreements

I am opposed to Project Labor Agreement.

The Dental Clinic, that is to be built soon, had bids from local contractors that were accepted originally until the Democrat Commissioners, who are currently in the majority, found that there were very few union companies among them.

They then rejected those bids, AFTER THEY WERE ACCEPTED, and created a Project Labor Agreement to secure union shops for the jobs needed to build the forthcoming Dental Clinic. Everyone was then forced to re-bid only after they signed the Project Labor Agreement.  A majority of union shops were then accepted.

I believe this to be wrong.
